Walk Along the Oregon Beaches

The Oregon beaches are beautiful, and they are a great place to exercise while taking a stroll. Very seldom do I take pictures with people in them, but I have been asked by some of my readers to include more pictures like this one. It was a few days before Spring when I went to the beach to take my dog for a walk - leashes are required! I noticed this couple out walking along the beach heading towards the jetty, and the sun was in the right position to focus my camera in their direction. It was a wonderful early Spring day, and the beaches had not yet filled up with tourists which frequent the Oregon beaches for their vacations. This area and it's beaches are usually quite empty, but once the long winters have passed we get many visitors from all over the world.

All Oregon beaches are accessible, and some allow vehicles and others do not. Please be sure to read the signs before taking your four-wheeled vehicle off the road. The Oregon Parks department keeps a keen eye on the beaches - thankfully so! The beaches may often look calm, but I always warn everyone to keep an eye on the water because sadly we lose people each year because they are not paying attention to the waves and the water. You can find agates, shells, sand dollars and occasionally something that has washed ashore. I've yet to find a note in bottle, but I always find nice driftwood and various types of shells. I recommend wearing some type of shoes because the shells are often broken, and sadly there are also pieces of broken glass in many places along with some very jagged rocks. Enjoy you visit to the area, and come back often!
