I knew after my first few years living right on the Oregon coast that truly each year was different than the last regarding our weather, but I must say in over 10 years this has been our oddest year. No real major winter storms, average rain and heavy fog; spring never came. Winter drifted into Summer although summer for the most part has seemed like a bad spring day. It’s hard to believe fall is not far away so I imagine I’ll be enjoying summer then; which would be awesome and not unheard of – this after my first post in months.

I also just posted the tides for the next week. Some nice low tides for clamming and crabbing should remain quite good on the high tide. Good luck!

I pray that everyone had an enjoyable Easter, and that the true Easter was recognized – not the false one created from old pagan practices. Easter is a day to give thanks to Jesus who was resurrected on this day and brought salvation to all who believe. Bunnies, chocolate, and various candy baskets have absolutely nothing to do with this sacred day. Care to talk Easter? Send me an email and I’d be happy to educate you using only Scripture as a reply. Blessings to all, but more importantly Love for Jesus!

I’ve made it abundantly clear that this website is a Christian website. I don’t force my beliefs upon anyone and my prayers are that my writings and photographs will show the inspiration of Christ in my life. I personally sign each outgoing email with the word “blessings” and have let everyone know that if you are not of like mind I will respect your beliefs and remove you from my mailing list. I thank God that over the years there has been less than a handful of requests to be removed from my list and I have received literally hundreds of emails of encouragement. Why am I writing this today? I’ve been doing a lot of studying of various doctrines of other well-known churches and have found to my sad surprise that many of them fall into the cult category. My most recent readings have led me to two churches that are without a doubt “cults”. I had been watching a new religious channel on TV and was following a program called “amazing facts” which dealt largely with the Book of Revelation. Sadly, after more than a month of watching this program I realized the program was a product of the Church of Ladder Day Saints – i.e. the Mormon church and that a large part of their ministry was a result of the work of a so-called saint named Ellen G. White. The church claims that her prophecy is greater than that of even the true prophets like Issiah and Daniel. I did some research on Ms. White and found that her teachings are also followed by the Seventh Day Adventist Church so I once again added them to my list of “cult” churches. You are all familiar with most of the very well-known cults such as the Jehovah Witnesses, the Church of Scientology and many others. As the Lord speaks to me and I pray He speaks to you follow his word, and His word alone and the only true teachings found in the Bible. I firmly believe that if a church is not “Bible based” it leans toward either being a cult or becoming a cult. I dare say even the Roman Catholic church is a cult. No where in the Bible does it call for us to worship Mary and the rest of their “saints”; that accompanied with the sexual abuse I pray will make everyone think twice about the Roman Catholic Church. Show me one place in the Holy Bible where I am to worship on of these so-called saints! I firmly believe the world in now experiencing the end time events provided by our one true saviour Jesus Christ. I will be happy to discuss this issue with you so please write or email me if you’d like to discuss this topic further.
