**Sounds I hear on a Quiet Night**

Filed under: Uncategorized — CoosBlues @ 12:44 pm

On a calm night, from my doorstep I often listen to the following:

The fog horn
The hum of a tugs engine
The waves crashing along the beach
A rare “Coo” of an Owl
Boat Horns
An Odd Bird of many varieties
Drops of heavy mist dropping on the grass
The purrs of my cats – they love the rain
Nothing !

**Something New**

Filed under: Uncategorized — CoosBlues @ 4:15 pm

I’ve added two new pages to the site: The include the free Walmart Camping page and a list of free photograph winners .

I’ve been kind on the Walmart page, I’ll keep my personal comments about that situation here. Again, I strongly urge you to write me and let me know how you feel about this subject. Wanna fight? (Smile)

Some very nice photographs have been mailed out these past few months. I hope you all will give the free photo page a daily try.

Alas, the roof is done. I’ll finally have the time to get this site fully updated and new pages should be added more frequently.

**Geese Moving**

Filed under: Uncategorized — CoosBlues @ 8:42 pm

The geese started migrating about a week ago. I’ve heard about 6 flocks so far, but they do seem to be increasing each day. A long winter perhaps, but at least the roof is finally done and the last remnants of the old roof are only a memory.

A Family conversation:

Dad: Hey kids, we’re going to get an RV this summer.
Kids: Great Dad, we’ve been wanting to get away from the city and enjoy the woods.
Dad: Well, kids here’s the good news first – The RV will be luxurious and we’ll head west.
Kids: Dad, where will we be staying when we camp?
Dad: Well, here’s the bad news. All I can afford is the Walmart parking lot.
Kids: They let you do that Dad, you can camp at Walmart?
Dad: Yes, although I can’t understand why some people object.

Sorry, had to do that.

**Subjects, WHY?**

Filed under: Uncategorized — CoosBlues @ 10:36 pm

I hope you had a chance to get out an clam this past week. Also, perch fishing is most excellent. I’d suggest using sand shrimp – make sure you get there on an incoming tide. Average size is about 3lbs, and the rockfish and hitting hard too. I’d suggest the north side of the jetty (near the New Carissa).

As usual, I procrastinated a bit and didn’t get much roof work done these past couple of days – didn’t get much of anything done really – not that many of you would consider what I do on a good day useful.

I got an email not long ago from a person mentioning that I was hard on the RV’rs that park in Walmart. Well, this is what the bottom line of my thinking about that is. Most of you know a nice RV rig costs well near $100,000 (and that’s on the cheap side). Payments I’d assume around $500.00 a month for about 10 years. Hmm, now if I can afford that, plus my home, plus gas, plus food, plus what goes with a vacation I SHOULD be able to afford to pay for a spot at an RV park – if not you need to check your finances. You have things backwards. Home first, RV second etc……. This isn’t WHAT really bothers me, if you were homeless, living in your car, sleeping in Walmart I guarantee you that the Coos Bay cops would be there in a heartbeat to run you out. Come on folks. Rich or poor dictates who parks in Walmarts parking lot? I honestly don’t care if you agree with me or not on this subject – you want to play they you’ve got to pay. Sadly, if you can’t pay, Coos Bay may not be your cup of tea.

**I saw the sun today**

Filed under: Uncategorized — CoosBlues @ 8:16 pm

Quite a feat considering I haven’t left the fog line for days now. I didn’t today either, but knowing that I had roof work to do the sun obliged at came out for most of the day. Everyone in Oregon knows now is the time to start working on the roofs. Once winter gets here it’s a bit too late. I sorely wish I had a hand in the tarp business during winters in Oregon. It would be nice to see something besides blue or beige, a nice hot pink would go well in certain areas.

I know, I know, I have tons of mail waiting to be answered. Heck, I just got the tides done for the week, what more do you want (smile).

If it rains tonight I’m going to get wet – lots of exposed areas on the roof. Have a spare bucket or two?
