It will take time to get use to writing 2007; I wish all of you a very Happy New Year and I pray that you all find peace and love in your lives.

Nice Storm
We had a nice storm roll through the other night. The wind gusts were well over 60mph, and we lost power for about 3 hours. First time in a couple of years, but the backup generator was nice.
Please be careful while driving around Coos Bay. You may not realize it, but there are deer and elk everywhere, and I almost hit one the other evening.Â

Getting Behind
I’m trying to get things caught up. I just didn’t want to turn the computer on Christmas, and quite honestly didn’t want to turn it on today, but did want to hope you all had a Merry Christmas. It’s surely winter in Coos Bay, with storm after storm hitting the coast. The waves are quite a sight, but as always be careful. We’ve lost far too many people this past month to the ocean.
The commercial crabbers seem to be doing well, so hopefully prices in your stores won’t be too high. I’ve got to get out myself soon and cook some up. Yes, it’s so hard living here.

December Newsletter
This is a busy time for most of us, so this month I decidied to send a full sized picture to all of my newsletter subscribers. You are free to print and display this picture anywhere you like. It’s my Christmas gift to you for support this website for nearly five years. My goal is not to offend those of you that do not participate in Christmas, but I won’t be politically correct and say “Holidayday Season” because of my strong Christian beliefs. Again, I respect yours.

Shore Acres Without Power
The Christmas lights at Shore Acres have been without power for the past two days after the big storm that just rolled through the area. I believe this is the first time in the history of the Christmas lights that they have had to shut-down for lack of power. We still have over 4,000 people in the area without power – now going on day two. I’m glad I bought a generator. You really need one here in Oregon.
