New Month – New Pictures

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:36 pm

I’ve been adding lots of picture narratives from my homepage lately. They might give you some ideas when you come for a visit to the area. The tourist season is just around the corner. I’m just glad I don’t have to pay the ridiculous gas prices to get here.

Tides have been updated along with most of the things I change often. May will probably see a decline in crabbing, and I’d suspect no change in the clamming. We get some real great low tides in June.

Please say a Prayer

Filed under: Religion — admin @ 11:55 pm

I’m asking all my Christian friends to please say a prayer for  those lives lost at Va. Tech.  Not only for those lost, but for their families, friends and everyone that was affected by this senseless tragedy.  God Bless You All!

Is there a Season for Clamming

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:30 pm

I just got an interesting email asking the question above.  My answer to that is NO.  There really is no season for clamming; it all depends upon the tides.   Yes, at certain times of the year the tides are much lower than others, but that is no indication of how good the clamming will be.  I clam year-round and never fail to find an abundance of clams along the Oregon Coast.  Lower tides just mean you can get our further, but the clams are always there regardless of the time of year.
