Shore Acres has opened the gardens for the annual Christmas Lights. The gates open at 4pm and close at 10pm.
I just posted the tide tables for Coos Bay and noticed there are some rather nice low tides, although they are rather early in the morning. This is one of the best times of the year to clam on the Oregon coast and should remain fair to good for the next couple of weeks.
We had a beautiful addition to our family today with the birth of a beautiful, healthy baby girl named Sophie Ellen. God has truly blessed us today, and as the baby’s grandfather I will do all that I can to see that God’s Love, mercy and grace is felt each and every day of her life.
I quite often am asked what programs I use on this website to present my Oregon pictures. I’ve found a great combination of a few free photo utilities programs. I’d suggest the following programs: Picasa, Photoscape, and GIMP. I’d also download a windows picture resizer. Unfortunately, I’m unable to display the full quality and size of my pictures on this website due to time and allocated picture space. Depending upon my camera settings, pictures can be over 3mg and range in size close to 3,000 square pixels. I must keep in mind that some of my viewers do not have a high-speed internet connection. I’d hate to have them wait a couple of minutes for one picture to download thus I try to keep most pictures under 2K. The programs I mentioned above will suit the average photographer along with software that comes with some cameras that will enable you to make the full use of your camera’s settings and picture manipulation. Honestly, if you find that you need these programs to manipulate anything but picture size you will want to examine your camera’s settings.
Make sure to sign up for my newsletter. I’m sending everyone about 2 pictures a week and here is the most recent picture I sent of a lighthouse frensel lens.
