This is the Upper Empire Lake; one of two lakes which have some great trout and bass fishing. The lakes are located near Southwestern Oregon Community College. They are a great place for both fishing and getting some good exercise. There are beautiful paths that wind around the lake, and if you don't have a boat you can also fish from the banks of the lakes. No motor boats are allowed in either lake, but you can fish with a rowboat or a fishing tube and electric troll motors are allowed. The lakes are stocked with rainbow trout of various sizes and there are some very nice black bass to be found. As you can see the lakes are beautiful, and they are a great place to take the family. Swimming is also allowed and the parks are free with no daily fee. Dogs are allowed, but only on leashes.
