Empire was truly the start of the growth of the city and at one time it's harbors were bustling with workers and "it was the place to be" if you were a fisherman or lumberman either working on a boat or the fishing docks. I've written a history of Empire here and there really has not been much growth over the years. The town grew eastward once the economy of the area grew enough and settlers found the area. The pictures below encompass most, but not all, of the city. You'll see the barbershop, police station, a couple of antique stores, one grocery store, a nice candle shop and areas which help the homeless. Down near the water you'll see the crabbing dock and the boat dock and the one remaining active fishery plant. Once you pass the city you will soon see the ocean and further down the road the beaches will begin to appear. Have a store in Empire not shown here? Let me know about it and I'll be happy to post a picture for you.
