This memorial was recently completed and rests in the center of the city. Three firemen, Captain Randy Carpenter, Fire fighter Jeff Common and Fire fighter Chuck Hanners died on November 27, 2002 while putting out a very deadly fire at a truck and auto supply store. The roof they were on caved in, and the three very sadly perished doing the work that they loved. The community will never forget them and the greatest sacrifice a person could give.
