True Hero's - Our Firemen

I wanted to share this picture after I posted a comment on my Blog yesterday with the title "Where have all the hero's Gone". Sadly, these days we don't see many hero's, but the firemen and women that operate these trucks surely fit into the true hero category. These trucks are very often the first to respond to most any kind of disaster and the brave men and women put their lives on the line each time they go out on a call. I have a page about some lost firefighters which the city lost a couple of years ago during a very tragic fire. The community erected a beautiful memorial to them not far from the fire station and many in the community not only mourned their loss, but contributed time and money to erect the memorial.

I'd also like everyone to remember our brave men and women in uniform serving this country. I served my country proudly nearly 30 years ago in the United States Air Force, as did my father during WWII. I want to thank everyone for your service, and I want to keep them at the forefront of your thoughts and prayers.

Once upon a time perhaps there were hero's in sports, politics, and other areas but sadly at this time I fail to see any others except men like John McCain in politics and A man like Tony Dungy in football. Yes, they are out there, but far and few between which is a rather sad commentary about our country.

We serve proudly
