You know summer is near when the hummingbirds come back to the Oregon coast. I have a favorite spot for taking pictures of them and it's great to see them back again for the summer. The picture below is a male Anna's hummingbird which has a dark green chest with yellow/green wings. I just love to hear them hover in, and with some patience, a tripod and my Nikon SLR with zoom lens I'm able to observe but not obstruct the hummingbirds activities as they feed on the many flowers in the area.
