First, my apologies for not getting out a newsletter last month. I've been busy with the summer, and I've taken on some new responsibilites these past couple of months. I'm working on a new website, although it is far from ready for publishing. I've also become more active in the Church and 3 days a week my days or evenings are quite full. It will get even more active once school starts as I'll be teaching the computer lab for the Salvation Army. I did get some great news from the doctor. My neck surgery has completely healed, and my broken foot no longer bother me. Finally I can get back out crabbing, clamming and fishing. Speaking of crabbing; this is a rather poor time of the year for crabbing. The crabs are there, but their shells are soft; clamming although is outstanding this year. There are clams all along the beaches.
I've yet to get out fishing, but I do hope to land a Salmon this year. The commercial season was closed due to the lack of Salmon entering the rivers. Most of the talk in town is about reimbursing the commercial fishermen, but I don't believe they have reached a final decision. I'd normally begin here with talk of the town, but I feel our local newspaper at http://www.theworldlink.com can provide you with much more detailed information. To those of you that don't know the history behind my website I can tell you I've just started my 5th year, and I don't forsee that as long as I'm in Oregon the site will ever go down. I started early in the digital camera world with a Fujifilm 1.3 meg/pixel camera and then moved to an Olympus 4 meg/pixel and about 4 months ago I made the big step to a digital Single Lens Reflex camera with multiple lens' and almost doubled my megapixel quality. My original goal was just to share pictures, but I found that I had lots of information to add and I've followed some of the suggestions of my visitors. What started as few pages is now well over 300 (adding the blog comments). Speaking of my blog.
I've closed the comments because there are people out there that want to just add links to their sites, or fill the comment section with very unappropriate comments. I'd be happy to give you all of you that ask a password so that you can post to the blog. Just drop me an email with the subject line PASSWORD. Now, I've got the big task of going through my site and replacing old photos with new, but I'll do that as time permits. I've got quite a lot of traveling to do to recapture some of my pictures, and I also have plans on going new places. As I add new pages I'll make sure to put the link to them on the top of my homepage for about a month, and then I'll move the link into the proper category. Please check out the site above (I have no affilation with it) for all your current and past information. I'll stick with what I "think" I do best and that is to keep up with my photography. I am including two pictures this month. One is what's called a green flash sunset (You can read more about this at http://www.coos-bay.net/Green-Flash.html ) and the other is a picture of a goose and a duck swimming side by side. Again, there are two versions of each picture - both large and small depending upon you internet connection. Here are the links for each of the photos:
The link which was given to my subscribers was placed here. Sign up for the newsletter next month and you too will get the link for a free Oregon Picture.
