This is a picture of the Hawaiian Chieftain as it was sailing out of the bay. This is a replica sailing ship and it comes to the area usually about once a year along with another old ship called the Lady Washington. You can take a ride on either of the ships, and if they are both in the area at the same time you can have some fun as they have cannon battles once they pass under the Conde. B. McCullough Bridge. You can see some pictures of these mock battles here. The ships are in great condition and normally are in the area around the Spring and Summer months. I believe the cost to take a ride is about $15, but that could change at anytime. To get some nice pictures head out towards the local airport and you can watch them jockey for position as they have their mock cannon battles.
