![]() Stroll along Seven Devils Head to the shores of the Seven Devils Wayside. You will be able to find shells, polished pebbles and plenty of driftwood. The wayside is located off of U.S. Highway 101. Look for the cutoff sign between Coos Bay and Bandon. Here are a few photographs of the Seven Devil's Beach area. The drive is beautiful and you will also see some beautiful mountain scenery as pictured above. Unfortunately, the day I took this drive was quite a stormy and foggy day. Spot an Elk ![]() Oregon has a large population of Elk, and they can often be spotted grazing in certain areas. The Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area is a great place to visit. It is operated by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. There are signs telling all about the elk. Get your camera or binoculars and most of all - enjoy. Brave the Cold and Go Surfing The Oregon Coast offers some great surfing, but the Pacific Waters are extremely cold (about 55F) so you will surely need a wetsuit to enjoy the surf. There are many places to surf in the local area, and Bastendorff Beach State Park would be an excellent start. Please be safe in the waters - watch for logs, rocks, and other floating objects. Parking is available (For Free). |
