This is a picture of the Koos Number 2 wooden tugboat which is now on display along the city boardwalk. It was originally used by the Simpson family as a tugboat, and as a vessel to travel in when navigating from their home on the Pacific Ocean into the local bay area. It was commissioned in 1950 and was retired from service in 1987. It was later donated to the community by the Knutson Towboat Company which still operates commercial tugboats for the southern coast.
