These are some panoramas taken the local area. I am still working on my techniques and making fine tune adjustments. Most of these photographs consists of two to six separate photographs which I stitched together using various methods. Below each picture you will find a description of the picture and where it was taken. I do hope you enjoy them, and if you have any suggestions or comments about how these were made please feel free to ask. I felt the wide angle view would offer a better feel for the area rather than single pictures alone, although you may find "parts" of these wide shots in my individual galleries. ![]() This picture was taken looking from the east towards the bridge which enters Charleston, Oregon. I took this photo about 11 A.M. It was a nice, sunny, but rather cold day. ![]() I took this picture about 12 P.M. on the west side at the Charleston Marina. There were many crab boats coming in and going out, and the one's coming in seemed to have full loads. This has been the best dungeness crabbing season for many years. The docks this time of year are full of activity with workers loading and unloading gear and crabs. ![]() This picture was taken from a distance in the parking lot at the marina. As you can see the lot is very empty. That will not be the case once spring break arrives. During the summer season there is often not a spot available to park. This is why I like this time of year in Oregon. I love the tourists, but I also love the freedom once they go home. ![]() This is the famous Conde D. McCullough Bridge looking from the northwest side of the bridge. I used a bit of a zoom to capture the bridge and the surroundings. This is the area I mention on my Conde B. McCullough page. Ships pass under this bridge before reaching the harbor in downtown Coos Bay. ![]() I took this picture standing on the Bridge entering into Charleston. I am facing due west. Off to the left hand side is a processing facility for cleaning, storing, and refrigerating Dungeness crabs and all types of fish. There is a pier just out of site that is open to the public for crabbing although I prefer the docks in Empire or in the heart of the marina. ![]() This is the building which houses the Oregon Institute Of Marine Biology. The building extends much further than this photographs portrays, but it is located on one of the busier streets in Charleston and I was unable to get a quality wide focal picture due to the traffic. ![]() I took these photographs on March 12, 2004 on a short drive North to Winchester Bay. The sea was very calm, the sun was bright, and it was just a beautiful day ![]() I also took these photographs the same day as the panorama above. Again, the sun was bright and the harbor was smooth as silk. ![]() This is one of the Empire Lakes. There is some wonderful fishing here - mostly trout but there are also some nice bass too. The best place I've found to have success here is on the opposite side of the lake. I have a float tube which I use to get there. There are some lunkers in there, and the lake is stocked quite often with trout. Best bait - worms, or a good castmaster lure, rooster tails work well too. Rubber worms for the Bass or jigs. I have quite a number of other wide angle photos, but I will leave them for perhaps another page. I'd like to show you some inland pans, and I will be working on them in the very near future. Please remember these photographs are copyrighted. Should you like to use one please send me an email stating why you would like to use the photograph. I am happy to share my work for anyone with a valid reason. |
