I decided to try and get away from the rain for a day (which partially worked) so I headed a few miles inland to take a look at the trees and their changing colors during the fall. The maple trees were most an orange and yellow, but a few were a deep red with a bit of purple mixed in. I took some of these while driving, so their is a bit of a blur, but I made a special stop to capture the fall tree's true colors.
I found all of this within minutes of the ocean, and for those of you heading this way for a vacation I strongly recommend a trip during the fall to see all the changing colors of the trees. Look closely at picture number nine and you'll see a small fire on top of the mountain. The picture titled "going down hill" gives you a good perspective of the height of the mountains. To find the pictures name just hold your mouse over the picture for a moment.
The day started off rather cloudy inland, but as I made my way a few miles west in became rather clear, although cloudy and lasted for a few hours until the rains started. I'd call this typical for the State this time of year.
