This is a picture of the Umpqua River Lighthouse taken at night. You can see from the brilliant colors of the light that ships at sea could see this for many miles as it flashes continually throughout the night to help ensure a safe passage of all boating traffic. Once daytime arrives you can take a tour of the lighthouse and walk right up to the light. The lens for the light is almost a greenish color, but with the strong light the two pair to make a reddish/yellow color. You can also find campgrounds in the area and not far away some good crabbing and clamming can be found too. I'd surely suggest you stop here on your trip to the Coast.
