The flowers are just starting to bloom in Oregon, and I took this picture today (5 April 2007). I've never been very good at knowing the names of the flowers which I photograph, so if you can tell me what this flower is please send me an email. I used my Nikon SLR set on the macro mode, no flash, and a very fast exposure setting. There is little need to slow down your exposure settings when taking photographs in high light situations, but when getting close it really does help to turn your camera to the macro mode to get the most brilliant pictures of objects which are very close. I have many pages on my website of pictures of flowers. As an Oregonian having just experienced a long winter once spring arrives and the flowers start to bloom, not only do the flowers come to life but I find myself invigorated and ready to enjoy a beautiful Spring and Summer along the Oregon Coast.
